During my university years studying biology, I
never thought images would some day be such a
big part of my life. Well here i am today, earn
my living as a professional photographer.
Change from a becoming scientist to a visual
artist was not that easy, particularly at the
beginning, but when I look back I know that my
decision was right. Photography is my way of
life and I love it.
As a photographer I consider myself above all
an aesthete and visual poet. Nature has always
been my big love and endless source of
inspiration. So I'm happy to live in Joensuu, a
small town in a beautiful lake district in
eastern Finland. Area with lakes, rivers,
forests, hills, meadows and four seasons is a
perfect place to obtain inspiration and peace
of mind. Also the music and movies has a huge
influence on my work.
My photographic work has been widely published
in books, magazines, newspapers,
advertisements, posters, calendars, postcards,
websites, etc. In 1997 I was enrolled an
Associate of The Royal Photographic Society of
Great Britain. I am a member of The Finnish
Nature Photographers Assciation.
I also work as a freelance journalist
specializing in nature and science and write
articles to magazines and newspapers. My
published articles counts over 500.
